Usability or how people fail, give up or are frustrated by technology
There is an expectation that because something exists it has a purpose!
While the suggestion that sweets tell people to eat them may seem silly, sweet smells and bright colours attract, even humans. Does your presentation, colours, information, relationship with users attract them or push them away? Have you decided before you start who your audience is and how have you calculated that?
Usability offers several bespoke assessment systems designed around various factors including intended market, suitability based upon various metrics, response gathering and it informs on both design, deployment, training, company strategy and company marketing. Human factors define how and when people make things work, by personal acceptance, buying in to it or over ruling planned usage and creating their own best practice.
